Days of business trip. Curtsey call, meeting, presentation, discussion happened as usual.
 
Trying to be serious, trying to be polite, trying to be professional.  
Workshops visited. Things proceeded smoothly and efficiently as it was planned.  
Grouped discussion, looking into details.  
Trying to know more about publication. 
 
Trying to know more about scheduling.   
Someone has to put things together, making things going.  
Four hour break from hard working. Paying a visit to Confucius Temple.
A place formerly the highest academy on the island around 1665 AD.
Aware of the connection, the relationship, the difference between the island and the mainland.
 
Buildings constructed during Japanese occupation. City hall, Martial arts academy, Banquet house.
Inside the Literature museum, leaving our prints on the book, “we would be back!”
Sitting in a temple. Talking on religious: Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, Muslim.
On language: Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, Hakka, dialects.
On ethnic: Taiwanese, Hakka, Mainland Chinese, indigenous people.
 
Name will be high on the top of a roof.   
A museum named after the oldest fort on the island built by Dutch around 1630.  
Anping Fort- in our words, Not many people know the island was governed by Dutch for 40 years.

Fried milkfish belly, Milkfish congee, Milkfish ball soup, Oyster omelet, Leaf-packed rice dumpling, Fried shrimp roll, Rice pudding, Fried mackerel thick soup, Fried eel noodle, Almond bean curd, Fruit shredded ice, Mullet roe, Snake meat, Duck head...
Oh, Coffin bread! What is that? But, fortunately...Most of it tasted.  
Making sure purposes and expectations of the trip of both sides are fully understood.  
What shall we do next?
 
Time to say farewell!
